See how our bottleless water coolers compare.
By the year of its founding in 1886, Vancouver still lacked urban services, including water supply and sewage disposal. At that point, locals relied on water pumps from shallow underground wells. However, sewage began to contaminate Vancouver drinking water, causing breakouts in diseases like cholera and typhoid fever. The city council took action, and the Vancouver Water Works Co. formed in 1886. By 1888, Vancouver saw its first water and sewage systems sourcing Vancouver drinking water from the Capilano River.
Today, Vancouver drinking water comes from 3 watersheds: Capilano, Seymour, and Coquitlam. The Seymour-Capilano Filtration Plant handles Vancouver water treatment from the Seymour and Capilano watersheds, and the remaining water is treated at the Coquitlam Water Treatment Plant. Both treatment plants use chlorine to disinfect Vancouver water before distribution. The City of Vancouver continues to monitor and protect Vancouver water quality. However, heavy rainfall and flooding in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley can occasionally contaminate Vancouver drinking water.

We offer advanced water filtration and sanitization technologies to remove sediment, reduce contaminants like lead, and eliminate bad tastes and odors.
